AWOL – PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy describes how AWOL LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the AWOL mobile application ("App").
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Information You Provide:
- Account Information: First name, last name, email address, and password (processed through Shopify's customer authentication system).
- Date of Birth: Optionally provided during registration. Used to verify age eligibility and for potential birthday promotions.
- Marketing Preferences: Whether you opt in to receive our newsletter and marketing communications.
- Raffle Entries: Records of raffles you enter, including timestamps and associated terms versions.
b) Information Collected Automatically:
- Device Push Tokens: If you opt in to push notifications, we collect your device's push notification token (via Expo Push Notifications) to deliver alerts.
- Order History: Purchase information is stored and managed by Shopify. We access your order history through Shopify's Storefront API using your authenticated session.
c) Information from Third Parties:
- Shopify: When you create an account or make a purchase, Shopify processes your information according to Shopify's privacy policy. We receive your Shopify customer ID and email to link your account.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your user account.
- Process raffle entries and notify winners.
- Display product drops, collections, and new arrivals.
- Send push notifications about raffles, drops, and order updates (with your consent).
- Send marketing emails about new products, restocks, and exclusive offers (with your consent).
- Verify age eligibility for account creation.
- Improve and personalize your experience with the App.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The App integrates with the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Shopify Inc. — Powers our storefront, product catalog, shopping cart, checkout, and customer authentication. Shopify processes payment information directly; we do not store credit card numbers or payment details.
- Expo (Expo.dev) — Provides the push notification infrastructure. Your device push token is transmitted to Expo's servers to deliver notifications.
Each third-party service processes your data according to their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
4. DATA SHARING
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share your information:
- With Shopify to process orders and manage your customer account.
- With Expo to deliver push notifications.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of AWOL LLC, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Raffle entry records are retained for audit and legal compliance purposes.
- Push notification tokens are deleted when you unregister or your account is deleted.
- Marketing consent records are retained to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. DATA SECURITY
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
- Secure password hashing.
- JWT-based session authentication with configurable expiration.
- Secure token storage on your device.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).

- Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. 9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App and request your acceptance of the updated policy. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
