Originally released in 2013, the Kobe 8 "Mambacurial" returns in Protro form. Taking its design cues from the Nike Mercurial Vapor IX soccer boot, this colorway features a gradient fade on the upper from Red Plum at the heel to Pink Flash at the toe. Electric Green accents highlight the tongue, Swoosh and outsole. "Mambacurial" on the inner tongue celebrates the fusion of the Kobe signature line and the design influence drawn from the beautiful game.
Kobe changed the basketball shoe game forever when he introduced the Kobe 4, a low-top featherweight masterpiece that focused on speed and an incredible court feel. The 8 takes the best of the best from the Kobe 4, 5, 6 and 7 low-tops and combines them into what some consider to be his crown jewel.
Engineered mesh in the upper is soft and flexible, so it wraps around their foot and conforms to its shape.
Flexible tread on the forefoot and side of the heel helps kiddos run, jump and play on multiple surfaces. The diamond-shaped tread (that just happens to look a lot like a Mamba-esque snake's head) provides extra grip while they're taking those first shots. This pattern runs along the outsole.
A thick, full-length foam midsole helps cushion little feet. Plus, the tongue is padded in the center, so kids can tighten their laces without feeling pinched or constrained.
